Holistic, compassionate midwifery care, whatever your needs.
Midwifery is an on-call, 24/7 relationship. There is always a midwife available for urgent care but we keep routine antenatal and postnatal care to normal weekday business hours; contact your midwife during business hours for non-urgent enquires, or anytime, day or night, for urgent concerns.
We don't run a walk-in clinic; contact us by phone if you require urgent care.
Birthworks Midwifery Service has been an established part of the community for 20 years. Many midwives have worked with Birthworks during that time; Birthworks midwives have always prided themselves on providing empowering midwifery care to the women of the Hutt Valley and their whanau. We are passionate about providing our clients with the knowledge to ensure they can embark on their journey with confidence, joy and good health.
We offer full antenatal, labour & birth and postnatal care with an emphasis on women's ability to birth fully informed, and free from intervention. We support women birthing at home or at Te Awakairangi Birthing Centre and specialise in waterbirth.
Things don't always run to plan, however, and we collaborate with the specialist services at Hutt Hospital on an "as needed" basis, to ensure that women get the type of care they require. If you do need obstetric support, we'll advocate for you and your whanau, so your preferences and needs are upheld and respected.
Birthworks Midwives are passionate about the power of good midwifery care to empower families; contact us to find a midwife or ask us about the care we provide.
